The SPA Political Theory Institute hosts Greg Weiner, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Assumption College, for a discussion on the classical virtue of prudence – the application of good judgement to action or conduct– in the writings of noted statesmen Edmund Burke and Abraham Lincoln.
 
Burke and Lincoln shared a deep commitment to prudence but boldness, paradoxically, defined their statecraft. Find out what that paradox means for our understanding of prudence as well as how it can be instituted in constitutional structures.
